#BlogCrush Week 9: 14th April 2017

Eeek! I’m flying solo this week so an extra special welcome to you all, and thanks for not leaving me a billy-no-mates! Haha.

#Blogcrush  is the friendliest linky in town because we do something that no-one else does: give you the chance to promote your own posts, AND someone else’s too!

If you’re here because someone chose you as their #blogcrush this week, congratulations! Collect your medal (blog badge) here:

This Week: Good Friday

Hip, hip, hurray; it’s Good Friday today!

(yes I worked long and hard on that little rhyme!)

So have you guys got any special plans for this fabulous bank holiday? Hubby spent quite a few years in a job where he had to work bank holidays so now that he doesn’t, the time off seems extra special.

We’re hoping to get a few odd jobs done in the morning (cutting the grass, taking some rubbish to the tip, etc) and then we’ll head out for some family time in the afternoon. With it being Good Friday, we’ll also be going to the special Good Friday Service at church in the evening.

#BlogCrush

**Special Notice for this week** I am hosting #blogcrush on my own this week (boo hoo – come back soon Wendy – we miss you!). So the rules are slightly different – check it out below.

The Rules

  • Join in with 2 posts:
    • 1 post from your blog (personal) – no linkies please
    • 1 post from someone else’s blog (your #BlogCrush)
  • **When you add the URL of your BlogCrush to the InLinkz form, put “BC” at the beginning of their title**
  • Tweet your BlogCrush to let them know you’ve added them to the linky
  • Comment using the #BlogCrush hashtag on at least these 4 posts:
    • 1 of my personal posts (I’ll be adding 2 so you can choose)
    • 1 of the host BC posts (there’s 1 from me & 1 that Wendy told me to link up)
    • 1 personal post
    • 1 blog crush post
  • Add the #BlogCrush badge to the post that you’re linking up from your own blog. You can do this by copying the gobblydygook code in the box below and pasting it into the HTML view of your post.

IMPORANT NOTICE: There have been a few people only adding posts from their own site. This isn’t really in the spirit of the #blogcrush linky. Please, please, PLEASE make sure you’re following the linky rules or it spoils it for everyone. Wendy and I don’t want to be the blog police – it makes us sad! If you’re unsure, please tweet me 🙂 You can also check out this post for general info about linky parties.

I’d love to share your posts with my followers so feel free to tweet me using the #BlogCrush hashtag on @lucy_at_home.

Featured Posts

Every week, Wendy from Naptime Natter and I choose one of your posts from the previous week’s link-up as our #blogcrush . This is such a lovely job for us and we love sharing our favourite posts. Here are our top picks this week:

Wendy’s #BlogCrush is Why Women Deserve Better Maternity Pay by The Squirmy Popple

Lucy’s #BlogCrush is The (Tragic) Life Of A Writer by Shank You Very Much

As soon as I saw the meme attached to Heather’s post, I knew I was going to like this post! I think this is something any writer can relate to and I did have a bit of a giggle!

Congratulations, guys! Please collect your “I’ve been featured” badges, above 🙂

Host Posts

As I said, I’m linking up 2 host posts this week as Wendy is taking a well-earned break. The first is 9 Disney Princesses Who Were Feminists. As a mum to 2 little girls, princesses are big business in our house! I know a lot of people are wary of the princess culture, and worry about the life lessons it teaches our girls. Well these 9 princesses will put your fears to rest. Girl power all the way!

The second post is How To Edit Your Life And Get The HAPPY Back! As someone who’s suffered with mental health issues from time to time, this strategy is really helpful. It’s a great way to help you reframe your life and help you feel more content, even in tough times. I hope you guys find it useful.
