Lucy At Home is a safe space for parents to read about what family life is really about and share their own thoughts. We take security of data very seriously.

Any names, email addresses, social media handles, etc, entered on this site will be kept safe to the upmost of our ability. We do not share personal information with other people (unless expressly stated such as in the terms and conditions of a competition) and we do not sell information to third parties.

We have physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to safeguard and secure the information we collect, including the use of secure third-party processors. Any information collected by these secure third-party processors is subject to their own privacy policies and therefore we have no liability in connection to the data stored by them.

This privacy policy was last updated on 23/05/2018 and is subject to change without notice. We will always endeavour to comply with current legislation but it is advised that you re-read this regularly to ensure you are still happy with our policies.

General Data Collection

Lucy At Home collects information from its readers in line with standard website practises. This helps us to analyse things like which pages are viewed the most and how our readers find us (e.g. search engine or social media referral).

We also collect demographic information such as gender, interest, country via Google Analytics. This information is not presented in a personally-identifiable format and cannot be traced to an individual.

Information We Do Not Collect

Lucy At Home uses a secure third-party payment processor for online payments. Therefore, to ensure your privacy and security, we do not collect any of the following information:

·       Credit / debit card numbers, except for the last 4 digits which may be used for:

  • Refunds
  • Verifying your status as an adult
  • Transaction verifications
  • Bank account information
  • Social security numbers or tax identification numbers

There may be times when we ask for personally-identifiable information but these situations will be identified in more detail below. We will not sell or share your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

Lucy At Home allows third parties to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit this website. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information (eg: click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visit to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. How We Use Cookies

Comments

If you fill in the form in order to leave a comment, the name you enter will be displayed publically but your email address will not. If you choose to leave a website URL as well, this will allow the public to click through to your website.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

All of this information is stored on our site but is collected solely for the purpose of adding your comment beneath the blog post. We do not use this information to add you to our mailing list.

If you leave a comment on our site you can choose to opt-in to having your name, email address and website saved in cookies. This just means you don’t have to fill in your details again if you come back to the site again and want to leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

Lucy At Home reserves the right to edit or delete comments for reasons such as, but not limited to:

  • The comments are deemed to be spam
  • The comments include profanity
  • The comments are deemed offensive
  • The comments contain links to other sites and / or advertising

If you would like to remove your comments from Lucy At Home and delete the information that we hold about you, please send an email to lucy@lucyathome.co.uk and we will be very happy to do this for you.

Newsletter

If you choose to sign up to the Lucy At Home newsletter (by filling in the form in the footer or sidebar), you will be added to the Lucy At Home email mailing list. Your information will not be shared anywhere else, but we do use a third-party server called MailChimp to store data and coordinate mass emails.

Your data will not be visible to other subscribers on the mailing list.

The emails you receive will be primarily information about our latest blog posts and other helpful information on similar topics. Occasionally, there may be some promotional content but this is always carefully curated by Lucy and will be kept to a minimum.

Our newsletter is only sent to people who have signed up for it using the Mailing List form.

If you would like to unsubscribe at any time, either click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our emails, or send an email to lucy@lucyathome.co.uk and we will remove you from this list and delete your data.

Competitions

In order to run giveaways and competitions, we need to collect some personal information such as your name, email address, and social media handles, depending on what information you choose to share with us. This information is not shared publically (although the winner’s name is displayed on the Rafflecopter widget, as stated in the competition terms and conditions). The winner’s name and email address will also be shared with the sponsor so that prizes can be sent.

Please read the terms and conditions of each individual competition carefully before entering so that you are aware of how your personal information will be used.

Lucy At Home will only use the information you submit for the purposes of the giveaway. You will not be added to our mailing list unless you specifically sign up in the subscription box.

Occasionally the sponsor will ask for the personal information from all entrants. This will only be done if it has been expressly stated in the terms and conditions which are always available to read underneath the Rafflecopter Widget.

Lucy At Home is not responsible for your details once they are passed onto the brand.

Linky

Lucy At Home uses a company called InLinkz to host the weekly linky party, BlogCrush. We ask for an email address so that we can establish who has added the post and contact you if there are any issues. Your email address is held at InLinkz and visible to the hosts of BlogCrush, namely Lucy At Home, Letters To My Daughter*, and Naptime Natter*.

If you prefer not to enter your email address, you can simply put a – mark in the email box. However, due to the nature of BlogCrush, having your email address makes it much easier for us to track who has added which posts and ensure everyone is following the rules so please bear this in mind when making your decision.

Lucy At Home is only responsible for the content on Lucy At Home. Although our website may link to other sites, you should be aware that once you leave Lucy At Home, you are not covered by our privacy policy and we are not responsible for any information collected by these sites.

Private Emails

When you send emails to and receive emails from the Lucy At Home email address, lucy@lucyathome.co.uk, you understand that they may include information that we or you consider private. Not all computer networks are fully secure and therefore you agree that we are not liable for any unintentional loss / access to electronically exchanged and stored information.

Future of Lucy At Home

The owner of Lucy At Home reserves the right to shut it down or sell it, along with all its component parts, at her own discretion. However, we currently have no plans to do this.

Rights over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
