Jake School Shoes – Review & Giveaway

Collaborative Post

The summer holidays are in full swing. Time for playing, paddling in the sea, meeting up with friends, staying up late, and of course, totally outgrowing last years’ school shoes!

My daughter’s school took part in a lovely campaign this year called Sal’s Shoes. It is a charity that sends used shoes to children across the world who don’t have any.

On the last day of term, all the children in our school took off their shoes and popped them onto their desk, ready to be collected by Sal’s Shoes. Then they walked out of class bare-foot, to remind them of the 300 million children worldwide who don’t own a pair of shoes.

It was a very moving moment!

So, having donated Jenny’s old school shoes, we were in the market for a new pair!

Jake Shoes

Jake is a family-run business, based in the UK. They stock shoes for adults and children, and have lots of top brands such as Ugg, Converse and Hunter.

But what really attracted me to Jake is that they take the time to ensure that shoes fit properly. They offer a full measuring and fitting service for kids in their stores. They also stock shoes in a variety of width fittings.

As a mum, I know that looking after my children’s feet is important. Did you know that children’s feet aren’t fully formed until they’re 16-18yrs old?! So it’s important to get shoes that won’t hinder their growth and development.

However, don’t worry if you can’t get into a Jake store – their website is fab and you can always call them for advice on measuring and fitting.

Ordering some school shoes

With Jenny by my side, we browsed Jake’s school shoe range. She immediately spotted the Lelli Kelly collection and was drawn in by the sparkly accessories and shiny patent leather. I really liked them too.

Jenny’s feet are slightly wider than average at a G fitting, but this was fine because the Lelli Kelly shoes were available in an E, F or G fitting.

We chose the “Angel” design in Black Patent (£49.99).

The shoes arrived quickly (there is free Next Working Day delivery on orders over £40) and were beautifully presented in a pink rose-covered box.

Jenny was keen to try her new shoes on and the Velcro straps made it easy for her to fasten them up. Then she started parading up and down the garden in her new footwear! I could tell they were a hit!

Jake School Shoes Sparkly Butterfly Lelli Kelly

The Angel design features a sparkly butterfly on the strap. I was a bit worried that the butterfly wings would dig into her ankles, but actually they were nowhere near and the shoes fitted really well.

The shoes we chose came with 3 different strap designs which are interchangeable. This was easy to do and Jenny managed it by herself with no problems. There was the sparkly butterflies, a black bow design (which was my favourite), and a simple strap with “Lelli Kelly” embroidered on it.

We’ve popped the shoes away now so that they’re still smart come September, but Jenny keeps asking if it’s time to wear them yet! I can see it’s going to be a long few weeks…! Haha.

I think a pair of good fitting shoes what ever the cost are very important to let your child’s feet grow properly so they don’t incur problems in adult hood. I love the toms shoes for myself also knowing another child is getting a free pair. I’ve bought two pairs this year. Good luck everyone

My son needs school shoes. Jake shoes is our local go-to shop in Stockport because they always stock great brands and shoes different to the rest of the high street so I’m pleased to see they are expanding and thriving.

£50 for a pair of school shoes is much more then I would ever spend, so it would be fantastic if my son could own a pair at this price, he would look so smart.

I’d really like to win so I can get my little girl a nice new pair of school shoes. I can’t go shopping for any until hubby gets paid at the end of the month and I’m afraid they’ll of sold out of all the nice ones.

I’d love to win these for my granddaughter, I buy her school shoes every year and the shop we buy them from sell Lelly Kelly too, she adores them but unfortunately they’re out of my price range. She’d be over the moon if I won these for her.
