Bloggers Bluff #06: Hooks and Dragons

Bloggers Bluff is my guest post game for bloggers!

The idea is simple: our blogger of the week will come up with 3 outrageous, little-known stories / facts about him- or herself. Two of these stories will be true one will be completely made up! Then we’ll open up the comments section and you can get guessing which one is the Bloggers Bluff.

Are YOU game?!

Last Week’s Reveal

Last week, Suzie from SuzieW took part. I can now reveal that her Bloggers Bluff was:

My first novel was written almost entirely in the middle of the night. I have terrible insomnia and, although I go to sleep easily enough, I wake after two or three hours. For years I’ve tossed and turned but now I get up, settle in my writing chair with a cup of cocoa and work on my latest story until I start to feel sleepy again. I get my best inspiration at night and sometimes wake up with an idea that I just have to write down.

This Week

This week, I am joined by Tracey from Hooks and Dragons.

Bloggers Bluff Hooks And Dragons

I love Tracey’s blog because you never know what you’re going to get – it could be politics, it could be humour, it could be some info about her fab crochet creations. So before we start the bluff, let’s find out a little more about her.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging on and off for the past 4 years. I have had several blogs in this time. I only started seriously blogging in the last year, but even in that time this is my second blog.

What’s the best thing about blogging?

Without doubt, the other bloggers. Even when I am not blogging, my bloggy friends keep an eye on me.

Describe your blog in 3 sentences or less.

A very random mix of whatever happens to be in my head at the time. This includes humorous posts, my opinions on current affairs/news stories and song parodies.

What’s your best piece of blogging advice?

Write for yourself. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to predict what your audience would like. That might work for a while, but it won’t really be your voice.

Hooks and Dragons

And if all that’s whet your appetite, here are the details for Hooks and Dragons:

Bloggers Bluff

I’d love to have more bloggers take part so if you fancy being featured on Bloggers Bluff, give me a shout.

Now let’s get down to business! Here are Tracey’s three Bloggers Bluff submissions:

Bloggers Bluff A

I am a very clumsy person. I am forever tripping over my feet, walking into things and have even been beaten up by a cow once. Despite this, I have never broken any bone in my body.
Bloggers Bluff Hooks and Dragons

Bloggers Bluff B

I have an IQ of 130. I know this because I paid to take the mensa-approved IQ test. I was really pleased with the result, until I found out that the minimum level required to join mensa is 131. So near, yet so far.

Bloggers Bluff C

At the grand old age of 38 I decided dating was a waste of time and instead vowed to have a string of meaningless one night stands instead. However, I ended up falling in love with and eventually marrying the first (and only) bloke I had a one night stand with.

So guys, which is the bluff??

Yes I think it’s a great bit of advice. I’m quite new to blogging, but it’s something that I’m finding to be more and more true – when you write what you’re interested in, your enthusiasm shines through and the post becomes more readable. Although I’m still rubbish at predicting which of my posts will be popular and which won’t be…

Congrats to the two people that got my bluff correct last week – there is no way I’d get up in the night – even to write – I can generally sleep for Britain lol.
This week’s bluff is a tricky one. I’m guessing A – not sure what you’d have to do to get beaten up by a cow! – sounds unlikely.

Oooh I love this concept! And the tips too, I’m a big jump-er around in blogging but have buckled down to this one for a while now… I would definitely agree with writing for yourself, it’s too easy to get swayed by other peoples posts but I find it doesn’t really flow if it’s not something that’s true to you!
I’m going with A as the bluff

Massive fan of Tracey’s work / bordering on groupie. I’m going with B as she is a 100% genius. Far too clever for Mensa. Love this concept Lucy. Brill idea #BloggerClubUK

I’m pretty sure that A will be the bluff! I wouldn’t be surprised that Tracey has the IQ of someone (almost) ready for mensa, and I think the story about her husband is true…! So by process of elimination, I’ll go for A! I really like the idea of this for a series!
