Bloggers Bluff #10: 3 Little Buttons

Bloggers Bluff is my guest post game for bloggers and this week we’re featuring 3 Little Buttons.

The Rules: Our blogger of the week will tell us 3 unusual stories about themselves. Two will be true one will be completely made up!

Annette is celebrating her 1 year blogiversary by taking part in Bloggers Bluff! Haha. As someone who is terrified of spiders myself, one of her stories really had me giggling! I can sooo imagine this happening to me!

Last Week’s Reveal

But before we get to Annette, I can now reveal that Media Mummy’s Bloggers Bluff from last week was:

Just before I got pregnant with my first, I filmed a BBC3 series called Don’t Just Stand There, I’m Having Your Baby (snappy title). I filmed the Dads-to-be having ante-natal classes with midwives to prepare them for being supportive partners at the birth.

I shot half a dozen births – waterbirths, hospital births, homebirths. It was often just me and the camera, with the parents, and of course it was a very intimate time for a stranger with a camera to be present. So I became very close to most of the contributors. It was an incredible experience – I felt privileged to be in the room when a new person entered the world (praying a tape/card wouldn’t need changing at the wrong moment).

I’m chuffed to say one of the couples named their little girl ‘Kimberly’ after our time together. We’re still in touch and she’s now nearly 4! (Although she’s more of a Kim, whereas I’m always Kimberly.)

This Week

Anyway, as I was saying, this week, I am joined by Annette  from 3 Little Buttons.

I love Annette’s strapline: Making The Most Of The Little Things. I think it’s such a lovely mantra to live by. And I love Annette’s writing – her warmth just radiates out of every post! Her #DreamTeam linky (Tuesdays) was one of the first I ever joined and she has been such an encouraging, supportive host over the months as I’ve been finding my feet as a blogger.

How long have you been blogging?

For 1 year. I tinkered about a bit beforehand with setting one up, but didn’t properly start 3 Little Buttons until the 20th November last year.  Which means… it was my blog birthday and I completely missed it! Oops. Cake anyone?

What’s the best thing about blogging?

Apart from the writing (because us bloggers all have a passion for writing right?), it has to be the blogging community.  I had no idea that this existed, and now, couldn’t imagine life without it. I don’t think that a day goes past without chatting to my blogging besties and our lovely tribes over at the #DreamTeam and #HappyLittleButtons.

Describe your blog in 3 sentences or less.

The 3 Little Buttons blog is about dreaming big, and making the most of the little things.

What’s your best piece of blogging advice?

That’s easy. Never stop believing in yourself.

Now let’s get down to business! Here are Annette’s three Bloggers Bluff submissions:

Bloggers Bluff A

When I was little, I was pretty good at ballet. Haha… yes I know, and just look at me now. But anyway, I struck up a deal with my mum, that if I got the highest possible mark at my next ballet exam, then I could choose whether or not to continue (I had a love/hate thing with it).

Shortly afterwards, at our exam results ceremony, the teachers joyously announced my shocking top mark. They were thrilled and it was meant to be such an honour.  Except, I earnestly thanked them and told them that I did it because my mum said if I got top marks I could quit. Everyone went silent, and I will never forget the look on my mums ‘let the ground swallow me up’ face.

Bloggers Bluff Inside 3 Little Buttons

Bloggers Bluff B

I have an extreme spider phobia that sends me into a blind panic, I just can’t help it.

A couple of days after moving into our new house, I walked out the gate with hubby to pop to the shops, and straight into a ginormous spider web that wrapped round my face and top half. I screamed the loudest I think I have ever screamed in my entire life, whilst running around in circles flinging myself everywhere in panic so madly, that poor old hubby  panicked too and thought I had been ermmm… shot. Oops.

Bloggers Bluff C

I have a confession to make… I love Christmas decorations. Lovely simple shades of white and silver are fab, but they just don’t cut my mustard. I am talking about the full on gaudy ones that look like a massive sparkle explosion, the more grotto the better, that’s what I say.

Hubby doesn’t know it yet, but I have just bought a 6 foot pre-lit Christmas tree in the sales. It’s covered in these super cute multi-coloured bauble shaped lights and it’s going to be replacing the subtle tree he picked out the other year. Sorry Mr Button *waves whilst bidding farewell to boring plain tree.

So my wonderful readers, which is the bluff??

Umm, tricky bluff this week. Love the ballet story – hope that’s true. And I can totally relate to the spider panic. So, I’m going C … because how is she hiding the 6-foot decorated tree?

I love this series so much that I could squeak! It’s so much fun! Now Annette and I go way back in the blogosphere and I like to think I know her quite well as we “chat” nearly every day. I’m kind of thinking C might be the bluff as I think Mr Button would be totally on board with whatever Annette goes for! (Although my hub had just nearly divorced me this afternoon as I presented him with a ginormous set of 500 outdoor lights that I picked up in the sales last year… So there could be some truth in that also?) Ooh I don’t know! I’m sticking with C! Can’t wait to find out now! Xx

Haha I’m always picking things up in the sales! We had to make a gingerbread house in October this year as I picked it up in the sales but it ran out of date before Christmas this year! Oops!
