Ordering Glasses Online: Perfect Glasses Review & Giveaway
Collaborative Post
I’ve been wearing glasses for 18 years (gosh, I feel old working that out!) and I actually really like wearing them. I had a brief summer fling with contact lenses during my early twenties, but other than that, I’ve been a glasses girl all the way!
- They give me a chance to change my appearance / look when I feel like it
- They draw attention to my eyes (and away from my nose!)
- They hide the bags under my eyes (!)
Perfect Glasses
Have you ever bought your glasses online, though? I have to confess that, although I do 95% of my shopping over the internet, I’ve never ordered glasses from a website. I’ve always been put off by the thought of not being able to try them on before buying.
However, I recently discovered Perfect Glasses. They’re an online prescription glasses retailer, specialising in adult glasses, and they’ve come up with an ingenious solution. All you have to do is take a quick snap of yourself with your webcam (or upload a photo you already have) and suddenly, you can try on any of their fantastic glasses you like!
There are detailed measurements of all the glasses so you can compare the dimensions to your current ones. You can also select whether you have a broad, average, or narrow face.
Choice
That’s the technical stuff out of the way. Now comes the fun bit – choosing your glasses! Perfect Glasses stock a really wide range of frames and have some great advice about which face shapes suit which style. There are over 1000 styles to choose from.
I had so much fun “trying on” the glasses (and yes Hubby and I got a bit silly and tried on glasses that were way too cool for us… but nobody saw so it’s okay!) It was really easy to do and it meant that I felt really confident when I needed to make my decision.
What really surprised me was the price – with the current 50% sale on, you can buy your glasses online for just £9! That includes the scratch-resistant coating and lenses created to your exact prescription.
Perfect Glasses also stock a lot of designer brands, including Gucci, Marc Jacobs and their fab Hugo Boss Collection. These (along with all the other glasses on the site) can also be ordered prescription-free if you just want them for fashion purposes.
Sunglasses
Perfect Glasses is also a great place to buy your prescription sunglasses. As well as stocking an extensive range of sunglasses, you can also customise the regular glasses by adding tints or transition lenses.
Our verdict
In all honesty, I regret that I’ve only discovered Perfect Glasses 18 years into my glasses-wearing-journey! The glasses that we ordered look absolutely fab (as I knew they would from the photo software). But they also feel really good quality too, even though they’re so much cheaper than high street glasses.
The prescription is spot on and I was able to start wearing them straight away without any issues. I was also pleased that the glasses arrived wrapped in foam (as well as a hard glasses case) so that they weren’t damaged at all in transit.
I will definitely be promoting this service to my own friends and family, and if you’d like to buy your own, the URL is:

I think transitions are good as they react to the light
I think transitions are good as they react to the light perfectly
I prefer transition sunglasses as I don’t like them too dark.
Wow that sounds genius!! I have a big prescription so hate trying them on in opticians because I can never see what they look like. I end up taking selfies! Going to have look at this! xx
Urgh I hate trying on in the opticians too – I have to get so close the mirror that I can barely see myself!
I think you would appreciate the post I wrote today (because this was one of the points on it): 10 Things You’ll Only Understand If You Wear Glasses! https://lucyathome.co.uk/life/10-things-wear-glasses/
I much prefer regular tinted glasses over transition. I find transition can sometimes be a little slow at changing between light and dark situations
Yes I find this sometimes
I prefer regular tinted glasses, I guess, because that is what I am used to.
I prefer regular tinted to transition, as they don’t change back fast enough for me when I’m in the sun, but then walk inside a shop.
I prefer regular tinted lenses because I wear contact lenses, however if I would love a pair of transition prescription glasses so that I could bask in the sun without wearing my contacts and give my eyes a rest. I am very shortsighted!
As a glasses wearer I love the idea of cheaper glasses so I can swap and change as the feeling takes me. Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime
Ah me too – glasses are soooo expensive from the high street
I prefer regular tinted ones, but only because I’ve never had the other kind.
I remember my dad having transition glasses years ago and they were really slow to change which seemed quite dangerous but if the technology has changed then they have to be the ideal.
I prefer regular tinted glasses, not tried anything else as happy with these
I prefer regular tinted sunglasses.
I prefer transition glasses
I prefer transitions as they react to the light which is nice especially when out shopping ,etc
It can be useful because you only need one set of glasses with you
I like regular tinted sunglasses- i have never tried transition though
transition sunglasses because they are just so easy to wear 🙂
[…] Sunglasses worth £50 (prescription lenses included if required) […]
I prefer regular tinted sunglasses as i’ve always been used to this kind
Regular tinted please
Regular tinted please real cool
I prefer tinted, I suppose its just what I am used to.
I prefer regular tinted as they seem to be darker and my eyes don’t like too much sunlight.
I prefer tinted, i don’t think transition work fast enough to adjust!
I always wear sunglasses and have never tried transition but think they would be good.
I’ve always preferred tinted – too much sunlight otherwise
Transitions are a great idea but I have not yet tried them
They’re definitely worth a try. It can mean you don’t need to carry 2 pairs of glasses around with you. Although, being a sun-lover myself, I found they changed a little too quickly for my taste! Haha
Regular tinted sunglasses seem more natural.
I have only had regular tinted sunglasses so cannot comment on transition leses
Transition lenses I have very sensitive eyes which react to sudden light
I prefer regular tinted sunglasses so I can pick and choose which ones I want to wear, guess I like to have the control and it’s what I’m used to!
ive only ever had the tinted sunglasses and never tried the transition lenses 🙂
I have actually never had the transitions lenses just prescription tinted ones. But I think transition ones would be ideal for me as it would save me from keep swapping glasses.
I have a prescription and always get transitions as I hate having to change my glasses when I go inside!
Transitions are great. I like to ‘see’ as much as I can so having the clearer lenses in the low light help and the added tinted protection when it’s too bright is perfect for me.
Transitions are great but I need tinted glasses as I’m hopeless with any sunlight and sometimes transitions are to slow to change.
I’ve never tried transition lenses, but I think I’ve always gone for tinted glasses because it’s easier to control when the colour changes. With transition lenses, you only have to go into a too-bright room and they’ll change colour, and that’s not always what I need. I’ve never seen anyone my age wear transition lenses, which also has something to do with it, I think!
Yes I’m not keen when they change indoors either – it can look a little odd I think
i prefer regular tinted because i can take them on and off as i need

Never tried transition lenses before, I do like tinted sunglasses as they suit my face and eyes
Reqular tinted ones
I much prefer transition lenses. I have always liked the idea of glasses adapting to the light and find this much better than having a permanent tint when I need to see things clearer !
Regular tinted for me
I like transitions , save messing about changing glasses all the time
tinted glasses – just what im used too!
I wear the regular lens. To be honest I haven’t tried transitions or mirrored lenses. I only need to wear glasses for driving which is great but the prescription sunglasses I have are slightly too wide on my head which means when you want to wear them on your head pushing your hair back, they fall off easily!
I prefer the regular tinted
I prefer tinted as I find them more effective.
I prefer regular tinted
Transitions are awful. You look a fool when your glasses change colour on a cold day.
just regular tinted for me
I prefer tinted they just look better
I tried transition glasses but struggled with the slow adjustment to change. Regular tinted sunnies are my favourite.
I prefer transition as I have really sensitive eyes and find they work better for me.
Regular tinted so useful
I prefer tinted because transitions don’t work in the car.
transitions are great as they react to the light perfectly – perfect for me
Regular tinted glasses for me, i use reading glasses, much cheaper this way.
I prefer tinted glasses because it’s what I’m used to, and I like to have a different style of sunglasses from my regular glasses.
REGULAR prescription sunglasses. Haven’t gone for everyday tinted yet. sceptical that they may change when i dont want them too
Regular tinted, it confuses me when light to dark !!!
I prefer regular tinted glasses. I tried Transition lenses & found they didn’t suit me. If I’m wearing sunglasses I just want to be wearing sunglasses.
I wear prescription sunglasses and they have polarised lenses which are fab! Never tried transition so can’t comment x
I prefer regular as they look like sunglasses inside
transistion! don’t need to carry 2 pairs of glasses lol, im rubbish enough with one pair hahah
I prefer regular tinted.
I never wear sunglasses because never got prescription ones
Regular sunglasses, just something I’m use to
I have bifocal sunglasses at the moment and prefer them as can choose a different style for normal glasses
Transition lens look good, I’ve never owned a pair of prescription sunglasses so it will be a new experience!
I prefer regular tinted glasses. The others seem to not always change when they are meat to an you end up with half tinted lenses when you are inside.
I prefer transition lenses fo I know my eyes are protected whenever needed
regular tinted sunglasses as they just feel more natural to wear
I prefer transition sunglasses as I don’t like them too dark.
I prefer regular tinted glasses as transitions are ok but in the car due to the glass they do not darken which is a pain when driving
Reading this is giving me a prompt to get online and order mine. I’ve been going to do this for 12months now…
