#MudFestMCR hosted by Grass & Air and Our Kid
Collaborative Post
Last weekend, we went to Mud Fest, Manchester – #mudfestmcr –
This messy, muddy event was hosted by local shop, Our Kid, to put their newest products, the Grass & Air waterproof range, through its paces!
It was brilliant!
From start to finish, the kids loved it.
Forest School
The first challenge of the day was a game of hide and seek. It quickly became clear why they’d chosen this venue – there were muddy mounds and squelchy puddles everywhere! The kids had great fun tramping through the undergrowth and hiding behind trees.
Getting muddy was the aim of the game and my kids were only-too-happy to oblige!
Next up was den-building. The girls are expert den-builders with our sofa cushions at home so I knew this would be right up their street.
Jenny was super proud of herself for finding an old wooden pallet that could be used as a door and dragged hubby and I over for a closer look.
The final activity was slacklining (tightrope walking). I wasn’t sure how Charis would cope with this (she’s only 3), but she watched the older ones and then was keen to have a go herself. She managed to get all the way to the end and then did her trademark screech of excitement to get our attention! Haha.
Grass & Air
The girls were each given a pair of Grass & Air wellies, and a Grass & Air rainster to wear. They were just the job for splashing in puddles and squelching through the thick mud of the forest.
I love the colours of the Grass & Air collection. Both our jackets were a bright turquoise colour, but there was also a choice of coral or navy blue.
I particularly loved the rain clouds on Charis’s coral welly boots! Jenny’s wellies also had rain clouds on but these were more subtle, which was a shame I think.
Camp Fire
And no outdoor adventure is complete without a camp fire and barbeque. So we finished off with a feast of hotdogs and hot chocolate, followed by cupcakes and, of course, marshmallows roasted on the open fire.
Delicious!
The Grass & Air wellies were such hit that they’ve already had a second outing!
I’ll probably be putting the jackets away until the weather warms up as they aren’t very thick, but they’ll be perfect when those April showers roll in. We’ll have the most stylish-looking kids on the block! Haha.
The Grass & Air collection is available to buy now via the Our Kid website with wellies starting at £16 and rainsters starting at £37.

Sounds as if you all had a wonderful time. Love the activities – great for exploring. My girls love autumn/winter time when they can wear their wellies and just walk in puddles and mud.#Blogcrush
Wow that looks like a kid’s dream come true! Photos are fab – slacklining seems to have become the latest activity, such a great idea. #Blogcrush
