Rainy Days: Four Toys from What2Buy4Kids

Collaborative Post

I’m sorry to have to say this but… summer is nearly over! The nights are starting to draw in and the cold, damp weather is on it’s way.

Nooo!

It’s so much easier to entertain the kids in the summer – you can take them out to the park, let them play in the garden, give them a run around at the beach.

So when What2Buy4Kids contacted me about doing a post all about fun things to do INSIDE, on a wet, rainy day, I was expecting a challenge!

What2Buy4Kids Website

However, I was pleasantly surprised – the website is really easy to navigate and packed full of toys that I’d not come across before.

I wasn’t really sure where to begin so I searched the site by age. It was so simple – I browsed the store and quickly found some toys that I knew my girls would love.

I think What2Buy4Kids is a great idea, especially when you need to buy something for children you don’t know very well. As a mummy of two little girls, I always struggle to buy for my nephews – what do boys play with?? This site makes it easy to find something they’ll really enjoy.

It is, by far, the easiest toy website I’ve ever navigated!

So what did I choose? Well here we go… (and if there’s anything you like the look of, just click on the title to be taken directly to the correct page on the What2Buy4Kids website)

Pull Along Sheep

£6.99 | 12+ months

This sheep is just too cute! My youngest is 2 years old and loves pull-alongs at the moment.

A few months ago, she got so fed up of asking for a pull-along dog that she tied a belt around a toilet roll and dragged that behind her instead (true story!). I felt so guilty after that that I quickly bought her a proper one. Haha.

I think this sheep will make a welcome addition to her collection! Plus it’s by Orange Tree Toys, which are one of my favourite brands – I’ve worked with Orange Tree Toys twice before and their toys are fab.

Pocket Popper Sling Shooter

£7.99 | 4+ years

What2Buy4Kids Pocket Popper Sling Shot

This is a classic toy with a modern twist. What child doesn’t like a bit of target practise with a sling shot! Thankfully, this one only fires soft, foam balls and so it’s safe enough to use inside.

I reckon we could have hours of fun with this. We could make some targets to stick up on the wall, or we could line up some empty plastic bottles to see if we can knock them down.

Kids First Human Body Science Kit

£29.99 | 5+ years

What2Buy4Kids Human Body Science Kit

My big girl, Jenny, is really interested in science (much to the delight of her uncle who is a science teacher!). It is her favourite subject at school and the teacher says she is really good at working out cause-and-effect problems.

My theory is, it’s because every second breath of hers is a question! Haha.

This kit caught my eye because it contains the equipment for 25 different experiments! That’s a lot of rainy afternoons! Jenny has spent a lot of time in hospital and has had multiple operations – learning more about her amazing body will be really interesting for her.

DIY UFO Craft Kit

£4.99 | 8+ years

I have to admit that I’m not very good with crafts – Baking? Yes. Crafts? No! – but both girls love them. So the way I get around it is to buy craft kits where everything is already prepared and mummy doesn’t need to think of something on the spot.

This UFO craft kit looks really good.

It’s small enough to store in the back of the cupboard and then whip out when we’re all getting cabin fever from being inside too long. Aliens Love Underpants is one of our favourite family books and so an alien-themed craft is sure to be a hit!

So those are my choices from What2Buy4Kids. Which ones do you like the sound of? What are your go-to activities when you’re stuck inside? Do your kids prefer to play by themselves or be entertained by you? I’d love to hear your experiences. Please comment below.

Karen, the next best thing to mummy

I used to be the queen of keeping children entertained on wet days, I was a registered child minder and was always full to capacity during the school holidays #triamphanttales@_karendennis

    mummy here and here

I have never heard of this website but it sounds really great to get inspiration for ideas. Especially for things like birthdays and christmases which for me I’ve just round the corner, eek! #stayclassymama

This is a great website, I had the pleasure of working with them earlier on in the year. These are some fab items. Let’s hope there isn’t too much rain. Thanks for linking up to #TriumphantTales, hope to see you again next week! 🙂

I LOVE that UFO kit – ready made craft kits are so much easier than trying to create things on the spot. And I’m a sucker for a wooden toy, so naturally I love the sheep too. #stayclassymama
