BlogCrush Week 45 – 22nd December 2017

Eeeek! We are soooo close to Christmas now! How exciting! As soon as I’ve written this post, I will be firing up google and researching some fun games for us to play on Christmas day, and making the final tweaks to my online food order… But before we get carried away, I’d like to say a big thank you to you all for popping over for Blogcrush Week 45.

BlogCrush is a linky party so it’s a place where bloggers can drop a link to one of their posts for us to read, a bit like a blog contents page. Then we click on the posts that catch our eye and have a read.

BlogCrush is special, though, because we don’t just add a post of our own – we also link up a post by someone else too. So think of a post that has really resonated with you – did it make you laugh? or cry? or was it super informative? – and then add it to the list as your BlogCrush post. Easy 🙂

If you’ve not joined a linky before, check out my beginner’s linky guide which will tell you everything you need to know.

This week’s hosts are:

Join our linky grey BlogCrush Week 45

Below is our “I’ve been featured” blog badge and it is for anyone who has been added to the blogcrush linky by someone else. That means someone has really loved your post, and you defo deserve to shout about that! Just copy the code in the text box and paste it into the HTML / text section of your blog. Go on – you’ve earned it!

***2 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS***

1) BlogCrush WILL be open right the way through Christmas! We know lots of linkys close over Christmas but we wanted to give you somewhere to link up if you wanted to. And remember, even if you haven’t got a post to add, you can always take a break from your festivities and pop over for a read. Here is the hosting schedule for the next few weeks:

  • 22nd Dec – Lucy At Home & Letters To My Daughter
  • 29th Dec – Naptime Natter & Letters To My Daughter
  • 5th Jan – Naptime Natter & Letters To My Daughter
  • 12th Jan – Lucy At Home & Letters To My Daughter

2) We now have a BlogCrush Pinterest Board. Wendy, Alice and myself thought it would be nice to have a board where we can showcase all the fabulous posts that are linked up here each week. We have also created a “best of blogcrush” board where the host’s featured blogcrush posts will get a second pin. Please pop over and give us a follow (and obvs we’ll follow you back) –

The Rules

  • Join in with 2 posts:
    • 1 post from your blog (personal) – no linkies please
    • 1 post from someone else’s blog (your #BlogCrush)
  • When you add your BlogCrush (post written by someone else) to the InLinkz form, put “BC” at the beginning of their title
  • Comment using the #BlogCrush hashtag on at least these 4 posts:
    • 1 post from Host 1 (personal or BC)
    • 1 post from Host 2 (personal or BC)
    • 2x personal posts from the rest of the link up

Remember you can always comment on more, though. This is just the minimum. The more effort we put into a linky, the more we all get out of it 🙂

    • Add the #BlogCrush badge to the post that you’re linking up from your own blog. You can do this by copying the gobblydygook code in the box below and pasting it into the HTML view of your post.

Featured Posts

As co-hosts we get the lovely job of choosing a post each from the previous linky to be our BlogCrushes.

We only choose posts that are added by one of our linkers (not your BC posts) and have the linky badge. These are then added back into the linky the following week as featured posts. Alice and I were hosting last week so we’ve chosen the featured posts for BlogCrush Week 45:

Alice’s Blogcrush post is Do It The Way You Do It by All in a Dad’s Work

Lucy’s Blogcrush post is The Thing I Do For Nobody But Me by Liberty on the Lighter Side

I think it can be so hard, as parents, to have something that is just for us – there are always chores to be done, little people to prioritise, and others’ needs to worry about. So I love that Liberty is taking the time to do something that she really enjoys, that is just for her! And also… she seems to be doing pretty well in her chosen field too! Well done!

Congratulations, guys! Please collect your “I’ve been featured” badges from the top of the page

My post for BlogCrush Week 45 is 19 Lapland UK Secrets You’ll Wish You Knew Before

A couple of weekends ago, we were invited to the most magical place in the UK – an enchanted forest with a secret elven door that can take you directly to Lapland!

Uh huh! You read that right – we just stepped through the door and suddenly we were surrounded by snowy trees, fairy footpaths, and, of course, a myriad of friendly elves. We went ice skating, built toys, worked in Mother Christmas’s kitchen, and completed our elf training. Then we got to meet Father Christmas himself AND he knew everything about our girls, from Jenny’s new trombone lessons to Charis’s trip to the theatre.

*Warning* – once you’ve read this post, no other Santa’s Grotto will ever be good enough again! Hahaha.

Lapland UK Pixie Mix Elf House Snowy Forest BlogCrush Week 45Thank you so much for popping by and joining in with BlogCrush Week 45, either as a linker or as a reader, and I hope to see you again next week.

Love, Lucy x

P.S. Please add the linky badge to your posts as it encourages more people to join in 🙂
