Blogcrush Week 15 – 26th May 2017

We’re back with blogcrush week 15… but it really has been such a sad week for the UK with the terrible news in Manchester.

There are no words to describe the evil that has been carried out here. And in some ways, it makes me want to retreat from the world completely.

But we need to overcome evil with goodness and love.

Each of us has our own part to play, and we can make a difference. There are people in our lives who need a friend, who need guidance, who need a listening ear. It might not seem ground-breaking, but to that individual, it can mean the world. We may not be fighting terrorism, but we’re proving that there are good people in the world.

I think we all need reassurance of that every now and again, especially at times like this.

And so we come to #blogcrush. Wendy, my co-host, and I have always wanted this little corner of the internet to be a place that radiates kindness and shines a light on fabulous bloggers. We love reading the posts that you link up here, and we love that so many of you have embraced the idea of selflessly sharing the work of others. To our knowledge, there is no other linky like it and we thrilled every time someone tells us that you’ve made their day by linking up of their posts here.

Thank you for linking up with us each week and lets keep spreading love and happiness through the internet.

If any of your posts have ever been added here as someone’s #blogcrush, you are welcome to add our little “I was featured” badge to your blog!

Blogcrush Week 15

Featured Posts

Each time, Wendy (my fabulous co-host from Naptime Natter) and I pick a post each from the previous #blogcrush link up to feature. This is a prize worth winning as it means lots of extra comments from our lovely linkers! But remember, only posts linked up in person are eligible for this (i.e. not your blogcrushes). Here are the featured posts for Blogcrush Week 15:

Wendy’s #blogcrush is A Love Letter To Mummy Bloggers… by Daydreams Of A Mum

My #blogcrush is Makeup: Do I Consider It Child’s Play? by Keep Mum

I thought this was a really interesting post. I go through phases of wearing makeup everyday and then not wearing it at all, but I always wonder if I’m setting a bad example to my girls by wearing it – am I teaching them that they are only acceptable if they look beautiful? This post raises all kinds of points that I’d never considered before and is really thought-provoking.

Congratulations! Please collect your “I’ve been featured” badges from the top of the page

Host Post

Finally, the post I’m linking up for Blogcrush Week 15 is a little fondant icing tutorial entitled How To Make CBeebies Peter Rabbit Buns (by a novice).

I love decorating buns. They don’t always turn out perfectly (and I have to admit I’m a little disappointed with these), but I love the creating and the making and the look of delight on my kids’ faces. I debated with myself whether to publish this post or not, but my blog has never been one to portray life as perfect – you get the genuine article here – so here it is, imperfections and all!

Hi love I just found out I was featured again as a blogcrush because I’ve just picked up a comment to my blog post. Thing is I don’t know who kindly added me and I’d like to thank them and maybe read theirs too. Any idea?!
